kEYSTONE ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE: POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Welcome!

Welcome to Keystone Academy of Excellence! Our goal is to provide a positive, engaging, and academically challenging learning environment where students can thrive. The following policies and procedures help ensure consistency, fairness, and success for all students.

Tuition and Payment Policy

All tuition and semester fees must be paid in full prior to the beginning of each semester unless alternative arrangements have been approved by administration in writing.

Students may not begin classes until semester tuition obligations have been satisfied.

Failure to submit payment by the established deadline may result in delayed enrollment or removal from class rosters until payment is received.

Attendance and Participation

Students are expected to:

  • Attend scheduled class sessions.
  • Participate respectfully in class discussions and activities.
  • Complete assignments by the assigned due dates.
  • Communicate with instructors regarding questions or concerns.

Parents are encouraged to support students by monitoring progress and ensuring assignments are completed on time.

Assignment Submission Policy

Students are expected to submit all assignments by the due date listed in Google Classroom.

Late Work Policy

Assignments submitted after the due date will receive a deduction of 5 points for each week the assignment is late.

Examples:

  • 1 week late = 5-point deduction
  • 2 weeks late = 10-point deduction
  • 3 weeks late = 15-point deduction

Students should communicate with their instructor as soon as possible if extenuating circumstances arise.

End-of-Semester Grading Policy

All coursework must be completed by the end of the semester.

Any assignment or coursework not completed by the semester deadline will receive a grade of zero.

If required coursework remains incomplete at the end of the semester, a zero will be entered into the gradebook for the missing work.

Academic Integrity Policy

Keystone Academy of Excellence values honesty, responsibility, and academic integrity.

Students are prohibited from:

  • Plagiarizing written work.
  • Copying another student's assignments.
  • Submitting work generated by another person as their own.
  • Using sources without proper citation when citations are required.

Consequences for Plagiarism

If plagiarism or academic dishonesty is suspected or confirmed:

  1. Parents will be notified.
  2. The assignment may receive a zero.
  3. Additional corrective measures may be assigned at the instructor's discretion.

Students are encouraged to ask for help if they are struggling rather than submitting work that is not their own.

Grade Reporting

Students may monitor their academic progress throughout the semester through Google Classroom.

Mid-Semester Progress Updates

  • Students will be informed of their current grade at the midpoint of each semester.
  • Families are encouraged to review progress and discuss any areas needing improvement.

End-of-Semester Grades

Official semester grades will be distributed to parents and students at the conclusion of each semester.

Grading Scale

Keystone Academy of Excellence uses the following standard grading scale:

Percentage       Letter Grade

90–100%                   A

80–89%                     B

70–79%                     C

60–69%                     D

0–59%                       F

Grades are calculated based on the assignments, projects, assessments, participation activities, and coursework outlined in each course syllabus.

Students are encouraged to monitor their grades regularly through Google Classroom and communicate with their instructor if they have questions about their progress or assignment feedback.

Communication Expectations

Parents and students should regularly check:

  • Google Classroom announcements
  • Assignment due dates
  • Instructor messages and feedback

Questions regarding coursework, grades, or policies should be directed to the instructor in a timely manner.

Respectful Learning Environment

All students are expected to:

  • Treat instructors and classmates with respect.
  • Use appropriate language and behavior during classes and online interactions.
  • Contribute positively to the learning community.

Disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior may result in parent contact and additional disciplinary action as deemed necessary.

Parent Partnership

Keystone Academy of Excellence believes that student success is strongest when families and instructors work together. Parents are encouraged to:

  • Monitor student progress.
  • Review grades regularly.
  • Support completion of assignments.
  • Maintain communication with instructors when concerns arise.
